Who is responsible
Owlileo is operated by OWLILEO E.E. (OWLILEO L.P.), a limited partnership registered in Greece — General Commercial Registry no. 196019201000, tax number 803395191, registered office Sporadon 2B, Gerakas 15344, Greece — which is the data controller for everything described here. For any question about your data, or to exercise any right on this page, write to hello@owlileo.com.
What is stored
No advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, and nothing is ever sold.
Why
To teach. To run lessons, set and mark homework, track progress and tell parents how their child is doing. That is the contract between a family and their tutor, and it is the legal basis for most of what is listed above.
To be paid. Lesson records and payment history exist so an invoice can be checked and settled.
To send reminders. Emails and Telegram messages about lessons and homework. Telegram messages only ever reach someone who connected the bot themselves, and that can be undone at any time.
To deliver what you asked for. When you request the free cheatsheets we email you the links to them, once. That is a delivery, not marketing, and it needs no tick.
To tell you about new free cheatsheets — only if you said yes. The box on the cheatsheets page is unticked, is never required to get the downloads, and can also be ticked or unticked from a link in the delivery email. Every such email carries a one-click way to stop. We keep a record of when the choice was made.
We do not profile anyone or make automated decisions with legal effects, and nothing here is used for advertising.
Artificial intelligence
Some features send text to an AI model: drafting a monthly progress report, marking coursework against a rubric, generating practice questions, and answering a student’s question about a specific problem. The providers are Anthropic and Google (Gemini).
What is sent is the work and the marking context — a student’s answer, the rubric, the attendance and grade figures for a report. What is not sent is anything about parents, payments, or contact details.
A tutor reads every AI output before anyone else sees it. No grade, report or piece of feedback reaches a student or parent without the tutor reviewing and approving it. The AI drafts; the teacher decides.
Under these providers’ business terms, content sent through their APIs is not used to train their models.
Children
Owlileo is used by school students, many of them minors. A child’s account is created by their tutor at a parent’s request, and a parent may at any time ask to see everything held about their child, correct it, or have it deleted.
A parent sees their own child and nobody else’s. Students cannot see each other’s work, marks or details.
If you believe a child’s data is held here without a parent’s knowledge, write to hello@owlileo.com and it will be removed.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask to see what is held about you, correct anything wrong, delete it, take it elsewhere in a portable form, restrict how it is used, or object to a particular use. You may withdraw consent for Telegram messages at any time by disconnecting the bot.
Write to hello@owlileo.com. You will have an answer within 30 days, and there is no charge.
If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr), or to the authority in your own EU country.
How long
While a student is being taught, their record is kept — the point of a progress history is that it goes back years.
When tuition ends, the account and its work are deleted on request. Otherwise they are kept for as long as the tutoring relationship might reasonably resume, and reviewed periodically.
Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as Greek tax law requires. That is longer than the rest, and is not something either of us can shorten.
Security
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. The database enforces row-level rules so each account can reach only its own data — checked by the database itself rather than trusted to the application.
Homework files are held in private storage and served only through a request that re-checks permission every time. A link on its own is not enough to open a file.
No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects you, you will be told.
Changes
If anything material changes, the date at the top changes with it and anyone with an account is emailed. This page was last updated on 11 September 2026.
